For the first time in over 45 years, this family-owned company, with an extensive network of builders and distributors, has gone paperless.

After months of evaluating and planning, Wellborn’s order processing and customer service department implemented paperless software solution MetaViewer from Metafile—and virtually overnight—saw dramatic improvements in efficiencies, customer service and vendor relations. Before MetaViewer, all orders were printed, distributed and stored as paper documents, requiring 20 full-time order processors and customer service personnel to handle an average 200 orders per day. These documents were boxed and shipped to an adjacent facility, making it difficult for staff to respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner.

MetaViewer changed all that. Now retrieving all related documents to a particular transaction, whether searching by order number, distributor or customer name, order date, or other pertinent detail is quick and easy. Orders are received electronically or scanned into the system upon receipt, so all documents—text files, spreadsheets, CAD drawing, Web pages and email records—are fully visible right from the start. Now Wellborn defines the workflow and MetaViewer automatically manages it from there.
