Making the case for paperless invoicing
For savvy businesses, automated technology (like Metafile's AP automation solution) has removed much of the burden associated with billing and accounting processes. But for many of these organizations, paper-based invoices submitted by vendors may inhibit their progress toward realizing all the benefits of a completely digital accounting system.
Vendors should be eager to move toward electronic invoices, because printing and mailing paper documents is needlessly expensive. The vendor incurs cost for not only printing the invoice but also for the related staff resources and postage fees needed for handling the paper. As a results, vendors pay more per invoice to mail them than necessary. Electronic submission avoids all these costs, because the invoice never needs to touch paper. Vendors now have a new options for sending and tracking customer invoices.
