Paperless Success: New York Transit Authority
The New York City Transit (NYCT), with its staff of 47,000, operates one of the most extensive and complex public transportation systems in the world. This wealth of employees, necessitating a bi-weekly payroll report running between 4,000 and 5,000 pages, caused serious document management issues for the NYCT.
In searching for a solution, the NYCT staff discovered Metafile’s MetaViewer and the benefits paperless document management held for their payroll processes. In implementing MetaViewer the NYCT eliminated the need to archive paper copies of payroll reports, freeing up the time and expense required to create these reports and the nearly 400 square feet of real estate needed for archive storage.
Additionally, by integrating paperless document management via MetaViewer, the NYCT’s payroll department is now able to search for and retrieve any piece of information in thousands of archived reports with as little as a single keyword of text.
