Earlier this month, The National Association of Purchasing & Payables (NAPP) announced that it is merging with three influential organizations: International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP), and its sister organizations International Accounts Receivable Professionals (IARP) and The Association for Work Process Improvement (TAWPI).

The announcement notes that the procure-to-pay process is becoming an increased focus for IAPP, IARP and TAWPI. Not only is this significant to members of these associations who will benefit from the addition of procure-to-pay content and programming, but it should be recognized by the entire industry as a signal of widespread change.

As the president and CEO of IAPP, IARP, and TAWPI, Thomas Bohn noted, the lines between the accounts payable, accounts receivable and procurement processes are becoming blurred as integration becomes an increased priority. We at Metafile often discuss the importance of achieving automation integration throughout the accounting process and this merger is a positive sign that industry influencers share the same wholistic philosophy.
