Food company cooks up higher sales with imaging solution.

Ever since Goya Foods, Inc. made the decision to implement paperless document management solution MetaViewer from Metafile, business is cooking!  Goya Foods is the largest Hispanic-owned food producer and distributor in the United States. Its ongoing challenge had been the ability to accurately and efficiently provide proof of delivery to customers. 

File cabinets proliferated, sometimes beyond control, resulting in lost documentation, with precious time wasted on trying to locate paper documents.  Goya then made the decision to implement the MetaViewer paperless document management solution.  MetaViewer works seamlessly with the company's IBM AS/400 host system.  One simple search can retrieve any archived AS/400 report or scanned document.  The result:  improved customer service and enhanced efficiencies.

"The most important advantage of the new MetaViewer software is the time it saves our customer service reps," comments David Kinkela, Vice President of Information Systems for Goya Foods. "They can get a copy of any invoice by simply typing in whatever information they have on hand.  This helps us improve customer service; we can resolve issues without even putting the customer on hold.  Time spent on researching invoices is now spent on the phone resolving customer issues."

Goya Foods also uses MetaViewer's paperless filing software to archive a number of AS/400 reports previously stored in filing cabinets.  "Our people get answers in seconds simply by typing in any text appearing in the record they are looking for,"  David Kinkela says.

"The fact that MetaViewer is continually upgraded and supported by Metafile provides welcome relief from the challenge of maintaining our previous custom system.  Now we get regular improvements, and the only additional cost is a small maintenance fee.  All in all, we have seen major improvements in many different areas of our operations since implementing MetaViewer."
